The preparers of this Environmental Assessment identified the following general issues as important areas to evaluate and consider as potential impacts regarding the proposed renourishment project and offshore borrow site:
- Estuarine and marine resources including unvegetated softbottom benthic habitat and water column
- Impacts to essential fish habitat (EFH)
- Potential impacts to nesting and foraging habitat for shorebirds, and
- Potential impacts to federally protected, threatened or endangered species including sea turtles, piping plover, least tern, shortnose sturgeon, smalltooth sawfish, manatees, and whales.
